This holy cave shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated at 4, 175 metres above the sea level. This shrine holds huge importance for the devotees of Lord Shiva. This shrine is visited by a large number of pilgrims during the lunar month when the ‘Shivlinga of Ice’ takes shape in the cave.

Amritsar is the homeland of the ‘Harmandir Sahib’, which is also known as ‘the Golden Temple’ due to its golden tomb. This Sikh shrine is enclosed by a lake. It is a fact that only because of the Golden Temple, Amritsar is also referred to as “the Golden City”.

Vaishno DeviVaishno DeviAnother famous shrine located in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir, ‘Vaishno Devi’ holds the status of one of the most popular pilgrimage centers that attracts thousands of pilgrims every day. In fact, it is one of the oldest shrines of India that is sited at an elevation of 5300 feet on the sacred Trikuta Hills of the Shivalik Hill Range. In order to visit Vaishno Devi, you first need to reach Katra because it is the base camp. From Katra, there is a 13 KM walk to reach the holy cave of Vaishno Devi. Inside the cave, there are no deities or images but you will get to see three natural rock formations popularly known as ‘Pindis’.

Ajmer SharifAjmer SharifAjmer Sharif is considered as one of the most pious destinations for Muslims (even for all religions) in India. Also, known as Dargah Sharif, this holy shrine is located in Ajmer in the state of north Indian state of Rajasthan. According to popular beliefs, the Dargah Sharif is the burial place of the popular Sufi Saint “Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti”. As per the legends, it is believed that no one goes empty hands from this shrine and gets all of their wishes fulfilled.
