The Lake Palace

The Lake Palace (erstwhile referred to as Jag Niwas) is perfectly located on an island in the middle of Lake Pichola. The palace was originally constructed as the summer palace under the supervision of the Maharana Jagat Singh II (62nd successor to the royal dynasty of Mewar) during 1743-1746. The palace was built by Maharana Jagat Singh I (reigned 1628-1652) and was later developed by Rana Karan Singh (1620-28).
